How do I protect my Atla System if I'm going to be away for months?

The guidance below is true for any drinking water filter.

If you are going to be away from your home for months, please take the following precautions.

• Always have a new filter set and packet of sanitizer on hand

• Once filters are wet they cannot be dried and reused. Wet carbon will grow mold when exposed to air

If you are going away for six months or more, you will likely want to change the filters upon your return. If you are going away for less than six months, flush your system for 20-30 minutes before using it. If you experience any off-taste at all, sanitize your system and add new filters.

We recommend shutting the cold water supply valve whenever you are going to be away from your home for an extended period.

If your home will reach freezing temperatures, you will need to remove the filters from your system and empty as much water out of the Revitalizer (black tank) as possible.
